Perennial clumping grass with a vast native range that covers the entire Eastern US. Dense, golden seed heads up to 6' tall, with blue-green leaf blades 2-3' tall. Blooms August-September. Tolerant of drought, erosion, dry soil, rocky soil, and black walnut. Full sun. One of the "Big Four" grasses that make up the backbone of North American grasslands and prairies.
